Protecting the Environment

Protecting the environment is a given for us.

Innovative technology. Committed to more ecology and economy.

Galvanic technology makes a key contribution to the active protection of the environment. It significantly increases the preservation of raw materials as well as resources and cuts energy consumption. It considerably boosts the useful life of products, devices and systems. Consequently, it also delivers decisive advantages when it comes to economic efficiency.

It takes just one kilogram of zinc to effectively protect a thousand kilograms of screws from corrosion. The conservative use of plating metals preserves critical raw material sources. Moreover, finishing helps extend the functional performance and lifecycle of products. This vastly reduces the generation of scrap and minimizes the production of substitute products – and thus the continued use of raw materials and energy.

Another plus when it comes to the protection of the environment: galvanic technology makes it possible to use lightweight materials. The use of light metals (e.g. in engines and railway engineering) also conserves energy and raw materials. The weight of axles of locomotives has been reduced by 1.6 tons ever since they are no longer made of steel but instead of galvanically finished aluminum alloy.

Functional surface finishing. For value retention you can count on.

Did you know that more money is spent on corrosion damages than on damages caused by natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes or devastation resulting from fires and earthquakes? Mars G. Fontana, one of the most renowned researchers and professors, published this result in his book “Corrosion Engineering.“ He underscored that functional surface finishing also plays a prominent economic role. After all, it provides corrosion protection you can count on and thus retains value in the long term while preventing economic damages.

Manufacturing that protects the environment. A given in our eyes.

In our eyes, protecting the environment is not a necessary evil. It is a given.

And of course a commitment we must take seriously. For this reason, we are committed to the consistent compliance with and implementation of environmental protection regulations. Our production facilities are designed in such a manner that the development of residues that could impact the environment in the medium term or permanently is kept to an absolute minimum or averted completely.

This also includes the recycling and reintroduction into production of residues. If we are unable to recycle, we transfer these materials to government monitored recovery or disposal enterprises.
